The current situation triggered by the novel coronavirus presents new and hard challenges to the business sector, forcing an adaptation to another reality and another way of planning the future, which will be different in many ways. All companies agree nothing will ever be as it used to be, both socially and corporately speaking.
Balanças Marques, the major Portuguese weighing manufacturer and awarded with the tittle of the best weighing company in the world in 2019, is also doing its “homework” on the subject. Taking advantage of having a big part of its employees on remote work, new tools and work methods are being tested and new ways of communication between the workers and with the clients have been spreading.
“When this crisis ends, and we hope it won’t be long, we will necessarily have a different country and a different world. As so, the way of doing business and communicating with clients will also change”, refers Paulo Marques, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Balanças Marques. “Knowing so, we are using this forced stop, since the beginning, to make a definitive transition to the digital world. This is an opportunity to reposition ourselves, while continuing our business through the digital channels and creating new ways of communicating directly with the clients”.
One of that ways has been the daily broadcast of online training. Working from each of their homes, the company’ salesmen have been putting on the new suit of teachers and have been producing tutorials, namely about the billing software ETPOS, that have been broadcasted live on Facebook, a platform that gives them the chance of interacting with the clients and answering their question on the spot.
“This a time when we should break paradigms, abandon more conservative methods of work and communication, test limits and learn, preparing ourselves for the future post Covid”, adds Paulo Marques. “These online training sessions we are conducting in Portuguese, but also in English, French, German and Spanish, are revealing themselves to be an excellent tool of learning about the way we want to connect with our clients and our public from now on”.
In parallel, more tutorials are being prepared, on several themes and products, which will be of great use to customers and users and will be available soon on the communication channels of the Grupo José Pimenta Marques’ company.
“We are also adopting videocalls for work and clients meetings, something that surely came to stay. Knowing the time and financial costs that come with travelling, we are finally realizing how unnecessary many of our travels, inside or out the country, really are, whether they are meant to meet our clients or potential partners in person or to convey training sessions and technical assistance”, sums up Paulo Marques.
